Blueprint Crafts is going GREEN in March!

February 26th, 2010

I am so excited to introduce my first ever theme at Blueprint Crafts!

During the month of March I will be posting on all things green – creating items made of recycled materials, making eco-friendly items, and finding new uses for scraps!

In my first post, I’ll be recycling this men’s button up shirt into an adorable t-shirt dress for my biggest 4 year-old fan ever, Grace!

I have a list of about 20 crafts that I hope to share with you all, along with tutorials and a few giveaways!  It’s going to be sew much fun!

I would LOVE for you all to join me on this green adventure!  Please feel free to take this button for your green blog posts:

If you have any green projects you would like to share, please leave a link in the comments section or shoot me an email at: jordan@blueprintcrafts.com

My first green post is going up Monday, so stay tuned!

Until next time!

A Second Look …

February 22nd, 2010

I just wanted to upload this set of pictures that I took of the Mr. Bluebird recipe cards this afternoon.

I just LOVE the way these turned out – I think I’ll have to start creating recipe cards with each apron I make!

More Wedding Bells – and Gifts!

February 21st, 2010

Last Friday my great friend and mentor, Nancy, got married!  She had requested that I make her and her husband a set of placemats and napkins like I did for Crystal’s wedding.  But this time, I decided to switch it up a little.  Nancy has a circular table on her back porch, so I decided to give the Round-Table Wedge Placemats tutorial a try from Sew4Home (I just LOVE their site!).

Each placemat is reversible, and came with matching napkins!  I also included a matching hostess apron.

She was so excited when she opened them – I’m thinking about using the left over fabric to make her some outdoor pillows to match!

I also recently finished up a Mr. Bluebird Apron for an order for my Mom, and as an added bonus, I whipped up these matching recipe cards!

I also created a customizable PDF version for you to download and use as you wish.  Click here to go to the download page!

Until next time!

Bee My Valentine

February 6th, 2010

So I finally finished my latest Valentine’s Day project – say hello to the Bee My Valentine apron!

They turned out exactly as I had imagined!  The Pink apron is already sold, but the Honey Comb is up on Etsy, so check it out!  It also comes with a complimentary potholder to match – perfect for Valentine’s Day!

And today I busted out some of my jewelry stuff, and came up with this bracelet and necklace.

The bracelet was inspired by this piece found on J Crew.

I love their jewelry, but $65?  Yeah, I think I’ll make one myself, and add a splash of color.

This necklace I made from some beads I just had laying around – I love the multifaceted color.

Anyways, both of these pieces are also going on Etsy – so check it out!

Tomorrow I’ll be posting on a new Hobo Bag pattern I found.  Can’t wait to share!

Until next time!
