It’s starting to feel like fall!

October 11th, 2010

This weekend was the first time that I started to notice the leaves changing color.  And so I decided it was also time for my apartment to get a fall makeover.  But before I get into telling you what all I created this weekend, I wanted to tell you that …

It’s Blueprint Crafts One Year Anniversary!!!

Actually, it was Friday, but I was soo busy that it completely slipped my mind – better late than never!  So to celebrate tomorrow I will announce a fun giveaway, so be sure to check back!

On to other exciting news!

From October 11 to the 22, Sew, Mama, Sew! is having a Big Baby Shower celebration.

They will be featuring lots of giveaways, contributions from some big wig bloggers, and free baby shower printables.  And Blueprint Crafts is going to be featured!  Be sure to follow along with all the fun they have planned over the next two weeks!

Moving on, today I’m going to share with you a new wreath I created for Halloween.  Remember this simple wreath I made for summer?

For my new wreath I wanted to use the existing grape vine wreath, but it needed a little something extra to make it feel more like Halloween.  So, I painted it black:

Using some newspaper and Krylon black glossy paint spray I gave it a good once over.  (I LOVE Krylon.)

Starting to look spooky right!?

Then I added a few purple blossoms, some fall leaves, and black and purple feathers, and voila!

What do you think?  Have any of you created a spooky wreath for halloween?  I would love to see yours!  Please share your links in the comments below!

Next time I’m going to show you what I did with the yellow flowers I originally had on the wreath to create more spooky decorations!  Until next time!
