For Baby Britton
March 28th, 2011
My beautiful roommate from JMU, Crystal, and her husband Chris are due to have a baby girl at the end of May. They’re naming her Britton, so cute :) Her baby shower was a couple of weeks ago, so I sent along a few gift for Baby Britton.
The package included my typical round of baby gifts: a blanket, burp cloths, changing pad, and bibs:
Isn’t that fabric adorable?
To make these, here’s a list of tutorials:
- Bibs From SewFunky: Make a Bib
- Burp Cloths From Prudent Baby: DIY Burp Cloth
- Blanket From Sew4Home: Stylish Baby Nursery
- Changing Pad from Cluck Cluck Sew: Changing Pad and Wipes Holder Tutorial
I also whipped up a nursing cover and binky leashes:
The tutorial for these can be found on Sew4Home’s website:
Congratulations to Crystal and Chris – so excited to meet Baby Britton!

I love it all! I can’t wait for Britton and I to use them!
Oh my gosh, SUCH a cute gift!! The colors in the fabric are the colors I’m using in my daughter’s nursery, so I totally love it :)
Where is the fabric from?
Very cute!
It’s from Joann’s! Thanks for stopping by :)
Darling tutorials. Will use these for my granchild! Does JMU stand for James Madison University? If so, I went there, too! But, I graduated 30 years ago-oh my!
Evelyn – JMU does stand for James Madison University! I received my undergraduate and graduate degrees from there :)
Do you happen to know the total yardage of fabric you used for all of the peices in this project?
Savanna – I typically buy 2 yards of each fabric :)
This is great!! Thanks for sharing.
How do you make your logo tags? I have wanting to make some for the things that I make. A tutorial would be amazing!
Cassie – I bought iron-on t-shirt transfer paper, printed out my logo on it, cut it in strips and ironed onto heavy cotton ribbon! So easy! I will try to post a tutorial soon on it :)
I love it!!! Adorable. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks Bonnie!
Your welcome Jordan. Ok, so I am going to try to make it for my niece’s baby to be. If mine turn out half as cute as yours I will be lucky! Wish me luck! You are my inspiration :)
Thanks for the great tutorial links! I have a lot of scrap fabric and friends having babies so I think I’ll be putting a lot of these to use.
I love your tutorials. Thank you for sharing! Is the fabric you used cotton?
Sarah, it is snuggle flannel! Joann Fabrics has a great selection.
Where do you get your cute labels?
@becky – I use this tutorial! http://patchworkpottery.blogspot.com/2008/09/fabric-labels-tutorial.html
How much would this set sell for at a craft sale?
Shar I usually sell this for $50
Do you sell these? I would love to buy a package!
And, if so, can you e-mail me details of what all is included, how much, and how to pay you?
Thanks so much!

May I just say… you inspire me!! :)
Thanks Stephanie!!
I’ve been wanting to make my nieces bibs with cute fabric recently, but am going to add iron on vinyl so they just wipe off.. thanks for the push to do so!!
Tarynne – great idea!! Thanks for stopping by!
Oh my goodness this auntie is gonna be busy. Love everything. I think in the next few weeks im going to try to make it all, plus some cloth diapers, and a quilt. In case anyone wants to know about a cloth diaper tutorial this is the best one i’ve found http://www.owlhaven.net/2011/12/06/how-to-sew-a-cloth-diaper/ Thank you for the lovely tutorials, and for the link to the label tutorials, now I can make “Auntie <3 's You" labels.
So Cute! I am going to be making gifts for some upcoming baby showers. I am having a hard time selecting a fabric that would be versitile enough to make these various items. For example I am tempted to use fleece for a blanket but I don’t see it working well for a bib or bibky leach etc. What do you reccommend? Thanks a bunch!
Brie – I use snuggle flannel from Joann Fabrics. Send me a pic of your set when you’re finished and I’ll share it on my fb wall! jordan@blueprintcrafts.com
Allison – would love to see your finished items! Send me a pic of your set when you’re finished and I’ll share it on my fb wall! jordan@blueprintcrafts.com
These are great ideas! I have three babies to craft for. Due Dec. Jan. and Feb. LOL
What a lovely set. I’m going to make a few sets too. My daughter works in a big office and she makes quilts for upcoming babies. It would be nice to include one of these sets also that would compliment her quilts! You are an inspiration!
Found you on Pinterst. My son’s name is Britton!
Bonnie – thank you so much! Would love to see pics of your finished product! send them to jordan@blueprintcrafts.com and I will share them on my facebook wall!
Elisa – thanks for stopping by! Britton is such a great name – for both boys and girls! :)
My 20 yr old son is named Britton. I love unusual names. I thought I was unique in choosing an acquaintance’s last name. I later met a 20-something, now nearly 40, whose name is Britton. LOL! Congrats!
Just wondering if you pre-wash everything and if you have a problem with pilling of the flannel?
ChelsRae – I do prewash, and I’ve never had a problem with it pilling. I always use snuggle flannel from Joann’s if that helps you!
