Keeping Up

September 30th, 2011

Looking at my current schedule, you would probably think to yourself, “where does she find the time!?” I’ve always been the type of person that LOVES having plans, and things to do. But sometimes, or rather all the time now, I find that I’ve got so much going on that if I don’t have it all written down it gets forgotten. And then I find myself in that, “OH CRAP!” situation and I’m scrambling to get something done.

In an effort to get myself organized, I’ve created these “to-do” lists:

It’s JMU’s Homecoming Weekend, so I felt compelled to use purple and gold :)

Here’s how it works: The Long list is used to write down anything and everything I want to get accomplished up to a year away, this includes lofty ideas like finally getting around to sewing a quilt (never gonna happen). From the Long List, I pick out items that need immediate attention (like all the wedding goodies I need to finish up for Danielle’s wedding next weekend) and assign days for me to work on them. I also like to pick out one lofty idea to add to the short list each week. Here’s what’s on this weeks Short and Long lists:

Long List

  • Make a Quilt
  • Finish Crochet Blanket
  • Finish t-shirt blanket
  • Update bookshelves
  • Organize cloths
  • CLEAN!
  • Raising Dough Campaign
  • Finish 3 pillows
  • 2 Baby Gift Sets (w/ tute!)
  • Flower Girl Dress (w/ tute!)
  • Flower Girl Basket (w/ tute!)
  • Ring Bearer Pillow (w/ tute!)
  • Thank You Banner  (w/ tute!)
  • Seating Charts
  • Garter Set  (w/ tute!)
  • Table Numbers  (w/ tute!)
  • Pumpkin Tea Lights  (w/ tute!)
  • 3 Table Cloths  (w/ tute!)

Short List

  • Monday: Pick up all supplies for wedding goodies
  • Tuesday: Clean the House
  • Wednesday: Cut out bunting flags and make garter set
  • Thursday: Sew bunting flags, sew ring bearer pillow, make flower girl basket
  • Friday: Sew table cloths and start Raising Dough campaign
  • Saturday: IKEA!  And create tutorial for baby gift set
  • Sunday: Fitting for flower girl, finalize seating charts, cut out flower girl dress

Whew!  That’s quite a bit to get done, but I’m on track!  Now let’s stay motivated together!  Click here to download your own Short and Long lists :)

Time to get back to the grind!

Happy Birthday to Me!

April 1st, 2011

No joking around here!  It’s my birthday today!  And I’m living it up!

So far, I have gotten an awesome array of gifts!  Like this:

Yup!  A Silhouette HD!  I’m so excited to use it!  My parents hooked me up!

I also got a little gift for myself, and booked a 5 day trip to Los Angeles to visit one of my best friends, Greg, who is moving out there!  I AM SO EXCITED!

When I got home yesterday, I opened the fridge to make some dinner, and this is what I found:

Hmm, wonder what that could be, haha.  Thanks Jimmy!

And when I came into work this morning, my parents had this little guy waiting for me:

As you might already know, I LOVE milk glass.  And have a pretty good collection going.  So this is a great addition!  And I love the honeycomb and bee details!

This will be great decor to add to my craft corner.

Maybe use it for buttons?  And look what I found when I opened it up:

Every time I see these googly eyes I think of the song, “I always feel like, somebody’s watching meeeeee.”   Little did I know, that they were going to be staring at me all day!

I opened the fridge to get some creamer …

Heyyyyyy!  And when I opened my desk drawer …

Why hello!  I’m sure I’ll be finding these all day, haha.

I’ve received so many great gifts today, that I thought I would pass on a little gift to all of you as well!  A free April Showers notepad printable!

Well, I’m off to get my birthday on – me and about 20 friends are going out for dinner tonight and then hitting up downtown for some city action, should be a crazy good time!

Holy Hang Tags!

November 10th, 2010

While I’m still working on finishing up everything for the MOMS Club Fundraiser I’m participating in on Friday, I took some time to create these hang tags for all of my items.

I also printed out lots of business cards.

Happy Birthday to ME!

April 1st, 2010

No joke – today, April 1, is my birthday!  And I turn 26!

So last month was dedicated to all types of Green projects, which was very fun.  But, I do have to admit, towards the end, I was daydreaming about all of the wonderful spring projects that I have stored in the back of my brain and how I could not wait to get to them!  But all in all, I really liked the theme thing, so I decided to do a theme again this month!  With April being my birthday month, I’m going to do all of my favorite crafts I’ve so patiently put off over the last month … and so this month’s theme is …  My Favorite Things!  You know, like the Sound of Music (you’re welcome, Sarah – it’s her fave movie, and I really, well, hate it, ha) or you could think of it like how Oprah does her Favorite Things shows (that’s how I like to think about it!).

During the month of April, you can expect some home decorating crafts, jewelry tutorials, and pattern tutorials – I’m finally going to pull out all those lovely clothing patterns I’ve purchased over the last couple of months and get some use out of them!  And – I’m hoping to incorporate more giveaways!!!  So be sure to keep and eye out, you never know what I might do next!

Moving on – I don’t have any birthday crafts hidden up my sleeve today, but with all of presents that I’ve gotten, I thought I would give a present to my readers as well!  Introducing, my April Showers Note Cards!

My new FAVORITE color combination is grey and yellow – perfect for the spring season!

And because April is mostly synonymous with rain (well at least it is here in PA), I decided to go with the April Showers theme, incorporating umbrellas, rain, and rain clouds.

I’m not sure which one is my favorite.

I guess their BOTH my favorite!

And it was SUCH a beautiful day out today, I couldn’t resist taking pictures outside.  I love how the colors pop against the grass.

You can download these here and personalize them however you like – but they will only be up for a week!  I’ll be taking them down and putting them up in my shop next Thursday!

I hope you all enjoy your day as much as I am!  I’ve got a BIG surprise to share with you next time!

Happy April Fool’s Day!
