For Baby Britton

March 28th, 2011

My beautiful roommate from JMU, Crystal, and her husband Chris are due to have a baby girl at the end of May.  They’re naming her Britton, so cute :)  Her baby shower was a couple of weeks ago, so I sent along a few gift for Baby Britton.

The package included my typical round of baby gifts: a blanket, burp cloths, changing pad, and bibs:

Isn’t that fabric adorable?

To make these, here’s a list of tutorials:

I also whipped up a nursing cover and binky leashes:

The tutorial for these can be found on Sew4Home’s website:

Congratulations to Crystal and Chris – so excited to meet Baby Britton!

Super Cute Baby Shower Gifts!

January 15th, 2010

It’s finally done!  I really need to focus on deadlines for my next project … can’t be getting behind on my new years resolution this early in the year!  But really, this was worth the wait – check it out – the finished baby shower gifts!

Ok, time for a quick recap.  My mom asked me to make baby shower gifts for her friend who is having a baby boy in the next couple of months.  Coincidentally, Sarah was also looking to craft something up for a baby shower (also a boy), so we headed out to the fabric store and picked up some cute prints in the softest flannel.  We decided we were going to make bibs, burp cloths, a blanket, and a changing pad.

First up, the bibs!  Here’s a look at the front:

And the back – such a lovely yellow.

And from the top:

Notice anything new yet?  Keep looking!  I’ll reveal my surprise addition at the end of the post.  Ok, let’s move on to the burp cloths!

That print is so adorable!  Next up is the blanket:

So snuggly!  And the perfect size too.  And finally, we have the changing pad.

I just love baby crafts!  I’m so glad that I got a chance to do these.  If you’d like to give a go at these crafts the tutorials for each piece are listed below:

And if  you’re wondering what my surprise addition is, I’ll tell ya: I finally made Blueprint Crafts fabric tags to attach to completed projects! They make me feel a bit more professional.  I found this great how-to from Patchwork Pottery: Fabric Labels Tutorial.

And before I go, I must introduce you to my new little friend.  As I was taking pictures of the baby items, I came across this little guy:

He’s the Egg Monster, I think he’s my favorite.  I wonder if he’s related to the Eggman?

I obviously need to step away from the coffee and Beatles Rockband!

This weekend I’m attempting to create my first pattern – gasp!  I know! – and also creating some sweet gifts for Valentine’s Day.

Until next time!
